We recently posted a list off GeoVision OS Issues & Troubleshooting Suggestions that many of you may have found useful. Well, we came up with a few more that might be stumping some people out there and wanted to go ahead and share them. If you’ve had issues with the KeyPro Not Found or Recycle Empty errors, read on!
KeyPro Not Found
First, make sure the GeoVision DVR Card is securely installed in the PCI or
PCI-E slot. Remove the card & re-install it to make sure it is seated well. Now,
try rebooting the DVR. If the errors are corrected, you are finished. If not,
you should uninstall and reinstall the GeoVision DVR Software by following the
steps below.
To Uninstall the Software Completely:
- Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
- Select Geovision GVxxx (your version) > Uninstall and confirm the uninstall
- Select any GeoVision Codex that may be listed and uninstall those, also
- Now, open Windows Explorer and go to E:\GVxxx (your version)
- Delete the entire folder if you aren’t worried about keeping archived files
- If you want to keep archived files, delete all folders EXCEPT .db files and the cam and audio folders
- Go to C:\WINNT or C:\WINDOWS and delete all files that start with “GEO”, geo”, “AGV” or “agv”
- Go to the C:\WINNT\system32 or C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and delete all system files that start with
“AGV” or “GV” - Go to the C:\WINNT\system32\drivers or C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder and delete all system files that start with “AGV” or “GV”
- Go to the C:\WINNT\inf folder and delete all inf and PNF files that start with “GEO”, “geo”, “AGV”, “agv” or “oem”
- Close all windows and go back to the desktop
- Right click on My Computer on your desktop or in the start bar, click on Properties, go to the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager
- Expand the “Sound, Video and Game Controllers” section
- Delete all GeoVision entries on that list (you have to delete them one at a time)
- Restart the DVR
- When the DVR has rebooted, go ahead and install the hardware that it will find.
To Reinstall the GeoVision DVR Software:
- Reboot the DVR after the hardware has been installed successfully
- Install the fresh GeoVision Software from CD
- Insert the CD/DVD into the DVR. The installation program should begin automatically
- Make sure you are installing the correct drivers, as listed on the DVR card, when asked during the system installation process
- Reboot the DVR
- Finish the GeoVision installation and configuration
- Place the correct login/password on the machine
- During System Configuration:
- Activate autologin
- Check on Web Server
- Click on Start Monitoring
- Set Location where storage video files will be stored
- Set Pre and Post recording times
- Click on Water Marking
- Type current name of DVR
- Click OK
- Activate the correct number of audio and video devices
- Make sure any other configuration needs are met
- Reboot the DVR
Recycle Empty (GeoVision System)
- Make sure only one recycle bin file is in the Recycle Folder under Geo
- There are several ways to troubleshoot this problem
- Delete all old recycle bin files until only the newest one is
left - Run DB repair and then reboot the machine
- Delete all old recycle bin files until only the newest one is
- If that doesn’t work…
- Delete all old recycle in files until only the newest one is left
- Delete all cam folders
- Run DB repair and then reboot the machine
- If that still doesn’t work…
- Delete all old recycle bin files until only the newest one is left
- Delete all cam folders
- Delete all audio db files
- Delete all video cam db files
- Run DB repair and then reboot the machine
